Kremlin: Trump’s aggressive rhetoric is playing to foreign leaders

Sharp remarks by US President Donald Trump toward Russia may be his way of playing to foreign leaders, said Putin’s aide Yuri Ushakov, according to Russian media.
According to Ushakov, Moscow takes into account all signals from the United States regarding the situation in Ukraine, transmitted both "through public and closed channels."
"There are public statements, and there are contacts through closed channels. We take into account the signals transmitted both publicly and through closed channels. All of this is taken into account in our position," said Putin’s aide.
He explained the American President’s tough rhetoric toward the aggressor country as playing to foreign leaders.
"At the General Assembly, Trump talks with different leaders, and to some extent, maybe he is playing to them, I don’t know," Ushakov noted.
Donald Trump said during a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan that Russia must stop the war against Ukraine.
According to the American leader, "7,818 people were killed last week." Trump stressed that Russia spent millions on bombs and missiles but "gained virtually no land."
Earlier we reported that Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin repeatedly rejected ceasefire proposals put forward by the US and Ukraine. The Russian leader even refused to support the idea of a partial ceasefire — in the air and at sea.
Because of this, Donald Trump recently said that Putin had let him down and that their good relationship no longer meant anything.
In addition, the US President said Ukraine is capable of regaining all its territories with the support of the European Union, since Russia is facing serious economic problems.
