Trump demands that Putin stop war: Having spent millions, he has captured almost nothing

Russia must stop its aggressive war against Ukraine. It continues senseless killings, having captured almost nothing, US President Donald Trump said this during a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Trump reminded that he urged Ukraine to take action, as Russia’s economy is in an absolutely terrible state.
The US leader also emphasized that he considers the killing of such a large number of people unnecessary and shameful. According to the president, last week, "7,818 people were killed last week, mostly military people."
"More Russians actually than Ukraine. A little bit more. But it’s such a waste of human life. And so we ought to stop, you know, Putin ought to stop," Trump stressed.
He added that Russia has spent millions on bombs and missiles, yet it "gained virtually no land."
Putin does not want to stop the war
Recall that Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly rejected US and Ukrainian proposals to start a ceasefire. The Kremlin leader did not even support the idea of a partial truce — in the air and at sea.
Against this backdrop, US President Donald Trump recently admitted that Putin let him down, and their good relations no longer mattered.
Trump also said recently that Ukraine can fully restore its territorial integrity with the support of the European Union, as Russia faces major economic problems.
