The idea of a trilateral meeting between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States at the level of national security advisors is not serious.

This was stated by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's aide, Yuri Ushakov, according to Russian media.

According to him, a format for negotiations between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine is currently not being developed. Moreover, Ushakov believes that the proposals Kyiv and European partners are trying to include in the peace plan allegedly hinder the achievement of a "long-term peace."

In addition, Ushakov said that the Russian side has so far seen no documents from the US regarding a peaceful resolution of the war.

Reminder: Yesterday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the United States had proposed holding a trilateral meeting between Ukraine, the US, and Russia at the level of national security advisors (NSA). He noted that Kyiv supports this idea.

US peace plan

Ukraine, the United States, and European partners have been working for nearly a month on refining a new peace plan, which Washington initially proposed in November.

The latest round of talks took place yesterday in Miami with the participation of Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, as well as representatives from the US and Europe.

Ahead of the meeting, President Zelenskyy said that the sides would discuss the 20-point US peace plan, security guarantees, and a future agreement on Ukraine’s reconstruction.

Following the talks, Umerov stated that Ukraine and the US had agreed on next steps and decided to continue their joint work in the near future.

In addition, on December 20, Vladimir Putin's envoy Kirill Dmitriev arrived in Miami. He plans to meet with Donald Trump's special representative Steve Witkoff and US President's son-in-law Jared Kushner. The discussions will also focus on a peace plan for ending the war.
