Putin's special envoy Kirill Dmitriev has already headed to the US to meet with Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and the US president's son-in-law Jared Kushner regarding a peace plan for Ukraine, according to Reuters.

According to one source, any meeting between Dmitriev and Ukrainian negotiators is ruled out.

"Three-way contacts with the Ukrainian side are not planned," a Russian source familiar with the visit said.

Reuters notes that Dmitriev's meeting in Miami will take place after talks in Berlin with Ukrainian and European officials, which Witkoff and Kushner held earlier this week. Additionally, on Friday they met with Rustem Umerov, head of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, and European partners.

US President Donald Trump also wrote on social media that he is traveling to Florida, where many meetings are planned, though he did not specify which ones.

US peace plan

Ukraine, the US, and Europe have been working for a month to make the US peace plan feasible and acceptable for Kyiv. At the same time, Washington is in contact with Moscow to consider the positions of both sides.

Ahead of Umerov's visit to Miami, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that upcoming negotiations will cover the 20-point US peace plan, security guarantees, and a treaty for Ukraine's reconstruction.

It is also noted that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio did not rule out attending today’s talks with Russia. According to him, Washington wants to clarify during negotiations with Kyiv and Moscow what each side is willing to agree to in order to finally achieve peace.
