Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll have agreed on "aggressive deadlines" for signing the agreement. The document will serve as a comprehensive plan to end the war in Ukraine, US Army spokesperson Dave Butler discussed this during a press briefing.
"For starters, this will be an agreement between the US and Ukraine. It is a comprehensive plan to end the war," he emphasized.
According to Butler, Zelenskyy and Driscoll held a private, hour-long meeting, followed by a one-hour meeting with a larger group.
He said that President Trump had sent US Army representatives because the United States had been partners with the Ukrainians from day one, and that they were there to support the Ukrainians throughout the conflict and to ensure that it was a good plan for the Ukrainian people.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll "agreed on a strict schedule" for signing the agreement under the US plan. A Ukrainian official told the media that Driscoll provided Zelenskyy with a written copy of the document.
According to the US official, an "aggressive schedule" for Volodymyr Zelenskyy means tight deadlines under the terms set by US President Donald Trump.
US peace plan
Today, November 20, the peace plan was officially handed over to Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The President’s Office emphasized that Ukraine will support substantive proposals aimed at achieving peace.
Information about the preparation of the US plan with the involvement of Russian officials appeared yesterday, November 19, in Western media.
It was reported that the plan reflected Moscow’s ultimatum demands to Ukraine, including full Russian control over Donbas and a reduction in the size of the Ukrainian army.
