An "aggressive schedule" for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy regarding the US peace plan means tight deadlines under the terms set by US leader Donald Trump, according to a senior US official.
"If you’ve been watching President Trump, you should feel that when it comes to an aggressive timeline, it means tight deadlines on his terms. It means right now, it means as soon as possible," he explained.
The US official added that these are the timelines under which the United States operates, and the mandate that the country’s Secretary of the Army, Dan Driscoll, brought to the peace efforts.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll "agreed on a strict schedule" for signing the agreement under the US plan. An unnamed Ukrainian official told reporters that Driscoll provided Zelenskyy with a written copy of the document.
US peace plan
On Wednesday, November 19, media outlets reported that the US, with the involvement of Russian officials, was preparing a peace plan for Ukraine. It was developed by the US President’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and the envoy of the Russian President, Kirill Dmitriev.
Western media reported that the plan reflected Moscow’s ultimatum demands to Ukraine, including full Russian control over Donbas and a reduction in the size of the Ukrainian army.
Today, November 20, the peace plan was officially handed over to Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The President’s Office emphasized that Ukraine will support substantive proposals aimed at achieving peace.
