Iran carried out a strike on Qatar. One of the ballistic missiles hit the industrial city of Ras Laffan — a key hub for liquefied natural gas production. A fire broke out at the facility, according to Qatar’s Ministry of Interior.

"Civil defense is battling a fire in the Ras Laffan area following the Iranian strike," the ministry said.

QatarEnergy confirmed the attack and reported significant damage.

"Emergency response teams were immediately deployed to extinguish fires caused by the incident, as substantial damage had been sustained. The whereabouts of all personnel have been confirmed, and no casualties have been reported at this time," the company said in a statement on X.

Later, the Qatari ministry reported that emergency services had managed to bring the fire under control.

Ras Laffan is a key energy hub of the country, home to one of the world’s largest liquefied natural gas complexes.

At the same time, CNN reports that Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attack as a "dangerous escalation" and a "flagrant violation of the State’s sovereignty."

The US operation in the Middle East has been ongoing for about three weeks.

On March 12, Donald Trump stated that the United States had effectively already won the war against Iran, although hostilities have not ceased. At the same time, Israel said it intends to continue its military campaign for at least several more weeks.

Against this backdrop, Iran is intensifying its rhetoric regarding energy targets. IRGC Navy commander Alireza Tangsiri stated that Tehran is considering strikes on oil infrastructure linked to the United States.
