Hungary bans 12 Ukrainian news outlets: Details

Hungary has banned 12 Ukrainian news outlets. Budapest took this step in response to Ukraine’s ban on two pro-Russian Hungarian news agencies, according to Gergely Gulyás, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office of Hungary.
He wrote that Ukraine blocked the Hungarian news sites Origo and Demokrata. According to him, this happened because "they dared to express critical views on the sanctions policy against Russia, military support for Ukraine, and also dared to portray the European Union and NATO as fragmented and not very effective organizations."
"Following the principle of reciprocity, Hungary is today introducing mirror measures against Ukrainian news portals, so they will not be accessible in Hungary," Gulyás emphasized.
This concerns the following outlets:
- tsn.ua
- oboz.ua
- anons-zak.com.ua
- ungvar.uz.ua
- zakarpattya.net.ua
- pravda.com.ua
- hromadske.ua
- nv.ua
- lb.ua
- insiderinfo.com.ua
- uaonline.com.ua
- eurointegration.com.ua .
"And if anyone seeks censorship, it would be better to limit the interference of Soros and his associates in the internal politics of sovereign countries, rather than the free expression of opinions on this matter," Gulyás wrote in his post.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on September 26 that a Hungarian reconnaissance drone flew over Zakarpattia, searching for locations of defense industry facilities. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine presented evidence of the violation of Ukraine’s airspace.
In response, the Hungarian Ministry of Defense began falsely claiming that Hungarian drones had allegedly not flown over Ukraine and that no violations had occurred.
RBC-Ukraine also reported that Zelenskyy promised a significantly tougher response from Ukraine next time such a provocation occurs. He emphasized that Hungary is doing "very dangerous things, primarily for itself."
