Ukrainian forces will respond if reconnaissance drones are once again recorded near the border with Hungary, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his evening address.

The head of state reminded that reconnaissance drones had already been spotted on the Ukraine-Hungary border.

"I instructed the military to carry out a full inspection and next time, if such drones appear again, to respond accordingly - to defend our state," Zelenskyy said.

He stressed that Ukrainians are now the best in Europe at defending against drones. Ukraine is ready to share its experience with other countries that need reliable protection from drone threats. Negotiations are currently underway with dozens of states in Europe and the Middle East. Kyiv also offered Washington one of the most promising deals.

Zelenskyy noted that incidents with Russian drones are constantly occurring in Denmark, Norway, and the Baltic states.

"According to intelligence, Russia may be using tankers as launch and control platforms for these and similar drones. It is not easy to prevent this, but it is possible. It is necessary to learn how to do so, to develop the necessary capabilities," the President said.

Hungarian drones in Ukraine’s airspace

Earlier, Zelenskyy said that Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi had reported to him that Hungarian drones may have violated Ukraine’s airspace.

These were reconnaissance drones likely monitoring Ukraine’s defense industry.

In response, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó provocatively claimed that Zelenskyy "is starting to go crazy."
