Over the territory of the Zakarpattia region, a drone was detected twice on the morning of September 26. It violated Ukraine's border from the Hungarian side, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported.

"On the morning of September 26, 2025, radar systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine detected twice the flight at different altitudes of an aerial object of the drone type in the airspace of Ukraine over the territory of Zakarpattia region," the statement said.

The General Staff noted that the object was twice violated by the state border of Ukraine from the Hungarian side.

To neutralize the potential threat, the Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted an airspace patrol over the Uzhhorod district using a unit of Chaklun-KM type drones from the Armed Forces' Unmanned Systems Forces.

To illustrate the facts of the state border violation, the General Staff published several visual examples capturing the mentioned drone.

Hungarian drones entered Ukraine

On September 26, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Hungary, reportedly using reconnaissance drones, may have been monitoring Ukraine's defense industry. The incident with the drones was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

"Ukrainian forces recorded violations of our airspace by reconnaissance drones, which are likely Hungarian. Preliminary assessments suggest they may have been conducting reconnaissance on the industrial potential of Ukraine's border areas," Zelenskyy said.

The president instructed that all the data be verified and the recorded facts be reported immediately.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó responded defiantly to Zelenskyy's statement about Hungarian drones over Ukraine. According to him, the president is "seeing ghosts."

"President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is starting to go crazy over anti-Hungarian sentiment. Now he's even seeing ghosts," Szijjártó said.

Furthermore, the Hungarian Ministry of Defense insists that Hungarian drones did not violate Ukrainian airspace.
