Russia's Ryazan oil refinery erupts in flames again after drone strike

Overnight, Ukrainian drones once again attacked the Ryazan oil refinery in Russia. A fire broke out there following the strike. Explosions were also heard in Rostov, where air defense systems were activated, according to the monitoring channel Exilenova+.

Pavel Malkov, governor of the Ryazan region, confirms the fire.
"Debris caused a fire at one of the facilities; preliminarily, there are no casualties. Emergency services are on the scene," Malkov says.
Ryazan oil refinery
The Ryazan oil refinery is one of the largest in Russia. It has an annual processing capacity of approximately 17 million metric tons of crude oil. The refinery produces automotive gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, and other petroleum products, including for the Russian Armed Forces.
The Ryazan oil refinery is regularly targeted by Ukrainian drones. In late July, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the facility, resulting in fires at the refinery and a Wildberries distribution center in Ryazan, and the regional governor confirmed the fires in industrial areas.
