Emergency responders extinguished a massive warehouse fire in the Kyiv region that broke out as a result of another Russian attack. The blaze covered an area of 10,000 square meters, reports the Main Directorate of Ukraine's State Emergency Service in the Kyiv region.

Firefighting operation details

According to rescuers, the complexity of the fire and its large scale required the deployment of special equipment.

In particular, firefighting robots and State Emergency Service aviation units, including two helicopters, were used at the scene.

The fire has now been fully extinguished.

Overall, emergency service units operated at 25 locations across the region.

Victims and injured: What we know

Russian attacks resulted in casualties. Emergency responders state that two people were killed and eight others were injured.

The injured included an infant. Survivors at all strike and debris impact sites received all necessary medical and psychological assistance.

Russian massive strike on Ukraine on May 24

During the night of May 24, the Russian army carried out a massive combined attack on Ukraine targeting Kyiv, the Kyiv region, Cherkasy region, and Poltava region.

According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Russian Federation launched 90 missiles of various types at Ukraine, including 36 ballistic missiles and around 600 strike drones. During the assault, Russia used Oreshnik and Zircon missiles, along with other weapons, with the capital Kyiv as the main target.

As a result of the overnight bombardment, fires broke out across Kyiv, buildings were destroyed, and rescuers spent much time clearing rubble. Reports said the death toll and number of injured from the massive strike on Kyiv had risen, with two people confirmed dead and at least 44 wounded, including two children.
