The number of people injured as a result of the overnight massive Russian attack on Kyiv has risen to 44. Two deaths have been confirmed, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

"A terrible night for Kyiv… Rescue workers are currently extinguishing fires and clearing rubble. Medics are providing assistance to the injured," Klitschko said.

According to him, 44 people have now been reported injured. Of them, 28 were hospitalized, including two children in moderate condition.

Three of the injured are in serious condition. Another 16 people received outpatient treatment.

The mayor also confirmed that the number of fatalities has risen to two following the massive enemy attack on the capital.

According to updated data, 56 people have been injured as a result of the enemy attack on the capital. Thirty of them are receiving inpatient treatment at city hospitals, including two children.

Massive attack on Kyiv

On the night of May 24, Russia struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles and attack drones. Debris fell in several districts, causing destruction, injuries, and deaths.

Ahead of the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that according to American and European partners, Russia was preparing to strike Ukraine with the “Oreshnik” ballistic missile. He urged Ukrainians to respond to air raid alerts and use shelters.
