Footage of the impact of an FP-5 Flamingo cruise missile on the Votkinsk plant, where Iskander, Oreshnik, Yars, and Bulava ballistic missiles are produced, reveals three key features of the strike, according to Defense Express.
A surveillance camera captured the moment the Flamingo missile struck the Russian facility. The video shows the missile hitting production workshop No. 22 of the Votkinsk plant.
Three aspects of the strike
According to the outlet, there are three important aspects of the attack. The first is the ultra-high accuracy of the Flamingo, indicating an effective terminal guidance system. This also applies to the missile’s entire flight path, as the strike on the Russian enterprise in Udmurtia was one of the longest-range attacks carried out.
The second aspect: after the missile hits the wall, two separate flashes can be seen. One appears at the moment of impact, while the second follows shortly afterward on the other side of the building.

This suggests that the blast wave affected the entire workshop. A massive hole in the roof, measuring approximately 30 by 25 meters, was caused by concrete structures being blown outward from inside as a result of the detonation of a one-ton warhead.
The third aspect is the light visible inside the workshop, indicating it was operating in three shifts. It remains unclear whether plant workers had been warned about the threat of a missile strike.
The outlet writes that authorities in Russia initially reported one injured person, later updating the figure to 11 who received medical assistance. At the same time, a single shift at such a facility can include more than 100 workers.
Missile strike on the Votkinsk plant
On the night of February 21, residents in Votkinsk (Udmurtia) reported that loud explosions were heard. Shortly afterward, videos emerged on social media showing fire and smoke rising from the territory of the Votkinsk plant.
Later, Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed that the Defense Forces had struck the Votkinsk plant, which produces intercontinental ballistic missiles, as well as other facilities, using Flamingo missiles.
It is noted that the Flamingo missile strike destroyed the electroplating and stamping shop at the Russian plant. In particular, a hole measuring approximately 30 x 24 meters was recorded in the roof.
