A fragment of a drone wing has been found on a beach in Estonia's Lääne-Viru County after it was washed ashore by the sea. According to preliminary data, the find may be part of a Ukrainian drone, ERR reports.

Discovery details

The report indicates the debris was discovered by a local resident on Sunday morning on Kalvi beach.

Marta Tuul, a spokesperson for the Estonian Internal Security Service (KAPO), clarified that this was not an aircraft crash site, but rather a wing fragment carried in by the sea.

"A local resident found it this morning," Tuul said.

Law enforcement authorities are currently conducting investigative actions.

The Internal Security Service has so far refrained from making further comments on the object's origin, although experts have preliminarily identified it as part of a Ukrainian drone.

Drone incidents in Baltics and Finland

Incidents involving drones have become more frequent in the Baltic region in recent times.

On April 2, 2026, Estonian authorities officially blamed Russia for incidents involving Ukrainian drones that entered its airspace. Tallinn explained that the drones went off course due to the active use of Russian electronic warfare systems.

A similar situation was observed in Finland, where two drones crashed in late March. Ukraine and Helsinki confirmed that the drones were not directed toward Finnish territory but changed trajectory due to Russian interference during strikes on targets in Russia.

In addition, on March 25, Russian drones directly entered Baltic countries. One of them struck a power plant chimney in Estonia, while another exploded on Latvian territory.
