Drone fragments found again near border with Ukraine in Romania
In Romania, fragments of a drone, most likely a Russian one, were found near the border with Ukraine, according to the press service of the Romanian Ministry of Defense.
As noted, specialists from the Romanian Ministry of Defense went to the area near the village of Periprava in Tulcea County, near the border with Ukraine, which was reported as a possible area where drone parts may have fallen.
"The investigative team collected evidence from the scene for examination, following legal procedures. The site is located in a marshy area, outside inhabited areas, with no damage to infrastructure elements," the Ministry stated.
The Romanian Ministry of Defense confirmed that they continue to inform their allies about the situation and condemned Russia's attacks against Ukrainian civilian objects and infrastructure, which are unjustified and seriously violate international law.
Russian drone debris on Romanian territory
Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Romania has reported several instances of discovering drone debris on its territory.
For instance, on July 31, during a search operation in areas where drone fragments were likely to have fallen after a Russian attack on Ukraine, new drone fragments were found in the Ceatalchioi area of Tulcea County.
Additionally, on the night of July 25, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with kamikaze drones. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, three Shahed drones crossed the border with Romania.
Later, Romanian Foreign Minister Luminița Odobescu confirmed that drone debris had been found on Romanian territory.
Furthermore, the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Russian Embassy's Chargé d'Affaires due to the discovery of Shahed fragments.
