Drone enters NATO airspace: Romania says F-16 fighter shot it down

At around 11:00 a.m. today, a Romanian Air Force F-16 fighter jet shot down a drone that had entered the country's airspace, according to Romanian President Nicușor Dan and Agerpres.
"The area was uninhabited, so the pilot was able to fire without any risk involved. Currently, teams from institutions with relevant responsibilities are investigating the area to provide all the details about the incident," the Romanian president said.
Agerpres reports that an RO-ALERT notification (Romania's national emergency public warning system) about a possible drone was issued today in Buzău County.
According to the Buzău County Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU), the warning was issued nationwide by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) and covered a large area in southeastern Romania, including Buzău County.
Similar warnings were also issued in the counties of Brăila, Galați, and Tulcea.
As previously reported, Russia may be preparing false flag provocations against NATO member states in an attempt to influence their support for Ukraine.
Possible scenarios include the use of drones disguised as Ukrainian ones to carry out strikes against the Baltic states and stage provocations against Poland.
