Russia is preparing false flag provocations against NATO member states in an attempt to undermine allies' trust in Ukraine, Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, warned.

"Russia is preparing false flag provocations against NATO countries. In particular, it may use drones disguised as Ukrainian ones to attack the Baltic states and stage provocations against Poland to undermine trust in Ukraine," Kovalenko said.

He also clarified that Russia's Main Intelligence Directorate is responsible for organizing and carrying out these operations.

Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service may also be involved in their implementation.

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski was among the first to issue similar warnings about the Kremlin's plans.

According to him, Warsaw is already actively preparing for such a Russian provocation. He also confirmed that Ukrainian drones could play a central role in it.

The Polish foreign minister also recalled a recent suspicious statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"He said that if a NATO member state attacks us, we will respond. Therefore, we suspect that he plans to prepare Ukrainian drones and use them to attack a NATO member state or Russia, and then respond to that attack," Sikorski warned.

A Russian reconnaissance aircraft was recently intercepted while approaching Poland.

It is known that Russia is trying in every possible way to drive a wedge between Kyiv and Warsaw.
