Clarity on Ukraine security guarantees expected after Paris meeting - NATO Chief

Following the meeting of European leaders in Paris on September 4, or shortly thereafter, one can expect clarity regarding security guarantees for Ukraine, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated.
"This means that we will be able to interact even more intensively with the American side to see what they are ready to provide in terms of their participation in security guarantees," said Rutte.
According to him, the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, which consists mainly of European allies, will take place tomorrow, September 4, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
According to Rutte, security guarantees are intended to deter Russia from a repeated attack on Ukraine after the end of the war. The basis of this plan is further support for the Ukrainian armed forces.
Preparation of security guarantees for Ukraine
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy promised that already this week, Ukraine, together with partners, will prepare written security guarantees.
Also, recently, Zelenskyy voiced three key blocks of security guarantees for Ukraine. It concerns the preservation of the army, cooperation with NATO countries, and the imposition of sanctions against Russia.
In turn, head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen stated that discussion of security guarantees for Ukraine is going very well.
According to her, after any peace agreement, Ukraine will need from Europe a significant number of soldiers to help prevent repeated aggression. She also emphasized that the partner countries of Ukraine have developed a clear roadmap for providing security guarantees.
