'Clear roadmap' exists for Ukraine security guarantees - EU Commission

Ukraine's partner countries have drawn up a 'clear roadmap' on providing security guarantees, said European Commission spokesperson Arianna Podesta, The Guardian reports.
Podesta was asked to comment on the statement of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen that Ukraine's partners had drawn up "pretty precise plans" regarding the deployment of soldiers to Ukraine as part of security guarantees.
She noted that representatives of the European Commission are participating in technical negotiations, and von der Leyen maintains contacts with leaders.
"Therefore, it is the view of the president (of the European Commission – ed.), formed through the information that she gets in discussion with the leaders, as well as technical level engagements, that there is a plan that is coming to shape. There is a clear roadmap, as she has said, towards building these security guarantees," Podesta said.
At the same time, she recalled von der Leyen's statement that last week the Coalition of the Willing had developed a "pretty precise" plan.
Security guarantees for Ukraine
Earlier, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that discussions on security guarantees for Ukraine are "really taking shape."
According to her, after any peace agreement Ukraine will need a fairly significant number of soldiers from Europe to help prevent renewed aggression.
In addition, earlier Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy promised that this week Ukraine, together with its partners, would prepare written security guarantees.
