Canada has increased its contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund to €40.1 million. The funds will be used for the restoration of energy facilities and the support of critical infrastructure, according to the press service of Ukraine's Ministry of Energy.

The Canadian government has contributed an additional €33.4 million (50 million Canadian dollars) to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. As a result, Canada's total contribution to the fund has risen to €40.1 million (60 million Canadian dollars).

Canada has also declared a future contribution of €6.7 million (10 million Canadian dollars).

Part of this new contribution will be directed towards supporting the energy supply of critical social infrastructure in the healthcare sector through the development of solar energy systems.

"Contributions to the Energy Support Fund are directed toward purchasing equipment necessary for restoring energy facilities after enemy attacks and ensuring the stable operation of Ukraine’s energy system," said Ukraine's Minister of Energy, German Galushchenko.

Canada's Minister of International Development, Ahmed Hussen, noted that this aid would help restore critical energy reserves for energy companies and ensure the stable operation of the industry.
