25 states join G7 declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine
The declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine, approved by G7 states at the NATO summit in Vilnius, has been supported by 25 countries, according to the Head of the Ukrainian President's Office Andriy Yermak.
"We are already coordinating with other partners to start the consultations. This week, the number of countries that have joined the Vilnius declaration is already 25, and I am confident that this number will rise," he stated.
According to Yermak, the Ukrainian side aims to sign the first agreements by the end of the year.
Security guarantees for Ukraine
During the NATO summit, the leaders of the G7 states agreed to sign a declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine. It entails long-term support in security and economic issues.
Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, and Finland also decided to support the declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine.
President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, noted that the new security guarantees outlined in the declaration will be expanded through bilateral agreements with partners.
