US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, assured that the US stands with Ukraine. According to him, any agreement with Russia must guarantee that there will be no new war, according to Sky News.

Kellogg visited a military hospital in Irpin, near Kyiv, the day before, where he spoke with injured Ukrainian soldiers. The US envoy described his visit to the hospital as "emotional" on his X (Twitter) account.

"Being with these warriors is why President Trump is absolutely right about ending this war. The killing must stop," Keith Kellogg wrote.

According to Sky News, Kellogg's rhetoric sharply contrasted with statements made by US President Donald Trump regarding Russia's war against Ukraine.

One of the injured Ukrainian fighters asked Kellogg if they could trust Russia during negotiations. Kellogg replied that "all wars end through negotiation, the ultimate victory on the battlefield ends with diplomacy, and today's world is no different."

"Can you trust the people that you are with to make sure that they're with you? It's sort of like you ask a deeper question - are you with us? And the answer is, yes, we are," he stated.

Kellogg also asserted that the goal of any peace agreement with Russia is to prevent a new war in the future.

Conflict between Trump and Zelenskyy

This week, on February 18, a meeting was held in Saudi Arabia between US and Russian delegations. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he would not recognize any negotiations without Ukraine.

Following the meeting in Riyadh, American President Donald Trump claimed that Zelenskyy's trust rating was only 4%. However, internal polls show that the trust rating for the president among Ukrainians is over 50%.

In response to Trump's statement, Zelenskyy urged him not to repeat Russian disinformation.

Later, the US President referred to Volodymyr Zelenskyy as a "dictator without elections." European leaders expressed their support for the Ukrainian president.

Additionally, a dispute between the US and Ukraine is ongoing regarding a deal on minerals. Ukraine is not willing to accept an agreement without security guarantees from the US. As reported by Sky News, Zelenskyy is not ready to sign an agreement with the US due to "problematic issues."
