Ukrainian officials are expecting further talks on the US peace plan. Ukraine is now closer to peace than ever, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a speech in the Irish Parliament.

The Ukrainian head of state reminded that earlier this morning, the Ukrainian delegation held briefings following negotiations with the American side.

"We are stepping up our efforts. Our team is now looking ahead to the next very important meetings. Today, Ukraine is closer to peace than ever before, and there is a real chance," Zelenskyy emphasized.

US peace plan

Ukrainian officials have met twice recently with US counterparts to discuss the peace plan.

Western media reported that as a result of these negotiations, the plan was reduced — it initially consisted of 28 points.

Yesterday, December 1, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that the US peace plan had been revised following the talks. She did not reveal details about the current form of the document.

Meanwhile, on December 2, President Zelenskyy said that the peace plan now contains 20 points, which were drafted in Geneva and refined in Florida.

According to the Ukrainian President, the most challenging issues remain territories, the fate of Russia's frozen assets, and security guarantees for Ukraine from the United States and the European Union.

Today in Moscow, US special envoy Steve Witkoff, the son-in-law of the American leader Jared Kushner, and Russian leader Vladimir Putin are holding a meeting, during which the peace plan is also being discussed.
