Answering the journalists' questions, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy suggested that White House chief Donald Trump provide Ukraine with security guarantees for 30–50 years.

"Our teams talked. Yesterday, we agreed with the US president that we will have strong security guarantees from the US. Indeed, they will not be perpetual. According to the documents, they are for 15 years, with the possibility of extending," the Ukrainian leader said.

Zelenskyy said he raised the issue of a longer period of guarantees.

"I told him that we have already had a war, and it has been going on for almost 15 years. So, we would very much like the longer guarantees. And I told him that we would really like to consider a 30-40-50-year period. Then it would be a historic decision by President Trump. The President said that he would think about it," the Head of State added.
