Zelenskyy's team answers whether US brings Trump's peace plan to Munich

Ahead of the Munich Security Conference, media reports suggested that US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, would bring President Trump's peace plan to Munich. Later, Kellogg denied this claim, and no such plan was presented, states Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
He confirmed that a productive meeting took place with US Vice President JD Vance, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Special Envoy for the Russia-Ukraine War, Keith Kellogg.
"This was not just a formality. There was a very substantive discussion. The key point is that the US is genuinely interested in ending the war, ensuring that its conclusion isn't just a temporary ceasefire but a lasting peace. They clearly understand that Ukraine needs security guarantees," Yermak said.
When asked whether the Americans arrived with a plan to end the war, the Head of the President’s Office replied that no such plan existed and explained why.
"We did not hear any specific plan, which would be strange because there can't be a plan that hasn’t been agreed upon with Ukraine," he emphasized.
Yermak pointed out that what matters is that a concrete process has begun, with consultations, talks, and work by teams at the highest levels.
"This was not the first phone call between Presidents Trump and Zelenskyy. We are already working with Mike Waltz, General Kellogg is coming. I believe we will now work daily to ensure such a plan materializes," Andriy Yermak concluded.
What does Zelenskyy say about the peace plan and negotiations
Earlier today, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during a conversation with journalists at the Munich Security Conference, stated that Ukraine is ready for constructive negotiations, but the US has yet to prepare a plan for ending the war.
He also mentioned during the conference that it is still too early to discuss a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia. The President emphasized that Ukrainians need US support.
Additionally, he stated that peace negotiations involving the US, Ukraine, and Russia would be challenging, as all parties seek to emerge as victors.
