Ukrainian sanctions and strikes are reducing Russia's oil exports. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave specific figures for three key ports after a report by the head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service, Oleh Luhovskyi.
Which ports were affected
Intelligence recorded a decrease in loading at three key ports:
- Primorsk — minus 13%
- Novorossiysk — minus 38%
- Ust-Luga — minus 43%.
Data may be underestimated
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that internal Russian statistics, on which these calculations are based, may not reflect the real situation. According to him, actual losses may be higher.
"In turn, we will continue the operation to reduce Russian oil revenues and export volumes," the president said.
Strikes on oil infrastructure continue
Today, April 29, drones of the Security Service of Ukraine struck a strategic oil hub near Perm. As a result of the attack, oil storage tanks caught fire.
Earlier the same night, explosions were also heard in Orsk — oil infrastructure was burning there as well.
As reported, this is not the first attack on Russia's oil infrastructure in recent weeks.
Ukrainian drones for the third time in two weeks — on April 16, 20, and 28 — struck an oil terminal in Tuapse in the Krasnodar region.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has increased the range of strikes against Russia by 170%.
