Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is ready to travel to the US for talks on security guarantees. This will happen provided that the US gives the green light, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha says during a press conference with his Czech counterpart Petr Macháček.

"Both the President and the Ukrainian delegation are ready to travel to the US to accelerate the process of achieving a just peace for Ukraine," he stresses.

Sybiha adds that this visit could take place if there is a corresponding signal from the American side.

"We have indeed made progress in many areas, both in agreeing on the content of the documents and in understanding the legal nature of these documents, as well as in the sequence of steps to finalize them," the Ukrainian Foreign Minister emphasizes.

He adds that Zelenskyy is currently awaiting a detailed report from the head of the delegation and members of the delegation on the progress achieved.

Security guarantees for Ukraine

Axios reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyy may meet with US leader Donald Trump to finalize a security guarantee agreement as early as next week.

On January 7, during the latest round of talks in Paris, Ukrainian and American representatives agreed on further contacts at the leadership level and discussed key elements of a plan to end the war.

Also on the same day in Paris, Kremlin special representative Kirill Dmitriev was spotted, who, according to media reports, was received at the US Embassy.

Axios reported that Trump's advisers Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met with Kirill Dmitriev in Paris to discuss the US peace plan for Ukraine.

Earlier, on January 6, a meeting between Ukraine, the US, and the countries of the Coalition of the Willing took place in Paris. The parties confirmed their unity on sustainable peace and agreed on further support for Kyiv, while the head of the President's Office, Kyrylo Budanov, announced specific agreements.

Ukraine is discussing security guarantees on land, in the air, and at sea with its partners. At the same time, a response regarding the terms of security guarantees from the US is expected to be received during the meeting between Zelenskyy and President Donald Trump.
