Zelenskyy orders increased drone and missile production at commander-in-chief staff meeting

Another meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff was held, during which it was decided to increase the production of interceptor drones in Ukraine, as stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening address.
According to him, during the meeting, he heard reports on the situation at the front — including assessments of Russian intentions and the capabilities of Russian forces, as well as Ukraine's ability to put pressure on Russia and disrupt its plans.
"From intelligence reports and open-source data, we see that Putin and his circle are not planning to end the war — there is currently no indication that they are seriously considering peace or diplomacy," Zelenskyy said.
These intentions are also reflected in Russia's increasingly aggressive and large-scale attacks, which continue nightly. In recent days alone, Russia has launched more than 900 attack drones, as well as ballistic and cruise missiles against Ukraine.
Today's meeting also included an analysis of the consequences of Russian strikes, their drone tactics, and Ukraine's responses.
"I have instructed a significant increase in the production of our interceptor drones, and we will attract more funding from our partners to make this happen. Relevant updates are being prepared. I also directed that separate funding be allocated to our Ukrainian ballistic missile program to accelerate missile production," Zelenskyy said.
Massive Russian attacks
The past three nights have been difficult for Ukrainians and the Air Force, as the Russian military has launched massive, combined strikes across Ukrainian territory.
On the night of May 24, Russia carried out a coordinated attack on Kyiv using both ballistic missiles and drones. A total of 14 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and 250 attack UAVs were launched across Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed six missiles and intercepted 245 drones.
On the night of May 25, Russian forces attacked 13 regions of Ukraine, using dozens of ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as around 300 drones.
Then, during the night of May 26, Russia launched a record number of attack drones and cruise missiles at Ukrainian territory.
The attack included:
-
9 Kh-101 air-launched cruise missiles fired from Tu-95MS strategic bombers (launched from Saratov region);
-
355 Shahed-type attack drones, along with various decoy UAVs.
