On the night of May 26, Russia launched a record number of attack drones and cruise missiles at Ukraine. Ukrainian air defense shot down a significant number of Russian targets, the Ukrainian Air Force reports.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, on the night of May 26, starting at 8:15 p.m. Kyiv time, on May 25, Russia launched a combined attack on Ukraine with 364 drones and missiles.

Russia struck Ukraine with:

  • 9 Kh-101 air-launched cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic aircraft
  • 355 attack drones of the Shahed type and various types of imitator drones.

Russia launched drones from the following directions Bryansk, Millerovo, Kursk, Orel, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Cape Chauda in the occupied Crimea.

Russian air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 11 a.m. Kyiv time, Ukrainian air defense shot down all 9 Kh-101 cruise missiles, neutralized 288 Russian Shahed drones and other types of drones in the east, north, south, west, and center of the country.

233 Russian drones were shot down by firepower, 55 were locally lost or suppressed by electronic warfare.

Russian air strikes were recorded in 5 locations, and downed attack drones fell in 10 locations.

Massive Russian strikes on Ukraine over past 3 days

On the night of May 24, Russia launched a combined attack on Kyiv, using ballistic missiles and drones simultaneously. Russia fired 14 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and 250 attack drones at Ukraine. Ukrainian air defense destroyed six missiles and neutralized 245 drones.

Also on the night of May 25, Russians attacked 13 regions of Ukraine. Russian invaders used dozens of ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as about 300 drones.
