Third night of terror: Russia launches heavy drone and missile strikes on Ukraine

Ukraine was under a massive Russian combined attack for the third night in a row. The Russians launched missiles and various types of drones, destroying different regions.

Consequences of the attack on Kyiv and the region
Kyiv
This was the third consecutive night the Russian army attacked the Ukrainian capital with strike drones. The air raid alert in the city lasted for about six hours.
As a result of the attack, damage was reported in the city's Dniprovskyi district - windows were blown out in one residential building. Debris also fell on the territory of a garage cooperative and a recreational facility.
Kyiv region
The enemy launched a combined attack - using both missiles and drones. Air defense forces were active in the region.
As a result of the attack:
- Boryspil district - three private houses and utility buildings were damaged.
- Fastiv district - one private house was damaged.
- Bucha district - a vehicle was damaged.
Preliminary data indicates there were no civilian casualties, and critical infrastructure was not hit. Emergency services continue to document and eliminate the consequences of the attack.
Other regions
Cherkasy region
According to preliminary data, air defense forces downed 25 Russian drones. As of 9:30 AM Kyiv time, there were no reports of injuries or damage from debris. Territory inspection continues.
However, authorities reported new information regarding previous attacks: in Uman district, shock waves damaged windows at a vocational school, a boiler house, and a residential building.
Odesa region
Preliminary reports indicate that drone strikes caused fires and destruction in private residences. In the Odesa district, a residential house was destroyed over an area of 100 square meters, followed by a fire.
Additional damage included: roofs of residential buildings, an outbuilding, two garages, three cars, a fence, and a gas pipe.
At another location, two garages were destroyed with subsequent fires. A car was destroyed, and a residential house was damaged.
Kharkiv region
Overnight, Russians attacked Kharkiv and the region with guided aerial bombs, Shahed, Geran, and Molniya drones.
Civil infrastructure was damaged or destroyed:
- Kupiansk district - 39 private houses, a business, a service station, a shop, and 2 cars were damaged.
- Bohodukhiv district - electrical networks were damaged.
- Kharkiv district - a civilian business was hit.
In Kupiansk, two women (aged 84 and 58) were killed, and three people (a 60-year-old man and women aged 76 and 68) were injured.
During the night of May 26, drones caused a large fire at a private enterprise in the village of Vasyshcheve in Kharkiv district. No casualties reported.
Khmelnytskyi region
Russia again attacked the region overnight. Four businesses were affected - storage facilities, workshops, and administrative buildings were hit. 18 residential buildings, a utility building, and a power line are also damaged.
Fortunately, no civilian injuries were reported. Emergency services are working at the site to eliminate the consequences.
What weapons did Russia use this time?
On the night of Monday, May 26, the Russian army carried out a massive attack on Ukraine using strike drones. Air raid alerts were declared in multiple regions, including Kyiv, where explosions were heard during the attack.
Around 04:00 AM Kyiv time, monitoring channels warned of potential missile strikes using Kh-101/555 cruise missiles launched from Tu-95MS strategic bombers. Later, Ukraine's Air Force confirmed missile launches.
In response, Poland scrambled fighter jets as a precaution, as Russia again launched long-range aviation attacks on Ukraine.
According to Poland's Operational Command, this was the second tense night in a row for their air defense system due to the renewed activity of Russian long-range bombers targeting Ukrainian territory.
On the night of May 25, Russia attacked 13 regions of Ukraine. Dozens of ballistic and cruise missiles and about 300 drones were used.
On May 24, Russia launched a combined attack on Kyiv with ballistic missiles and drones simultaneously. A total of 14 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and 250 strike UAVs were launched across Ukraine. Air defense destroyed 6 missiles and neutralized 245 drones.
