Zelenskyy on pause in strikes on energy: We support it, but details are needed

Ukraine supports the proposal for a pause in Russia's strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure. However, the details still need to be clarified, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a press conference.
"Everyone needs to put pressure to ensure a sustainable peace. If President Trump can push on the details and ensure there are no strikes on energy and the sea, if that is the first step and there are no other steps yet - let him then explain the details of how we will do this. I am sure that both the American and Ukrainian sides will support any steps leading to a reduction in strikes. Whatever happens, we will support such steps," said Zelenskyy.
The President noted that he would like to hear more details about the proposal for a pause in Russia's strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
"I would like to hear more details, especially since the American side proposes that groups meet in the Middle East. I understand this refers to Saudi Arabia. I have not seen the details. We support all steps toward ending the war. But to support something, we need to understand what exactly. When President Trump has time, he will call," Zelenskyy added.
At the same time, he emphasized that Ukraine and Russia, with the mediation of the American side, could agree not to attack energy infrastructure.
"There can't be a situation where Russia strikes our energy, and we stay silent. We will respond. But both sides - the Ukrainian and Russian sides - can agree not to strike energy infrastructure. Our side will support this. It was part of our proposal regarding the sky and the sea. With the mediation of the American side, if they are the guarantors of monitoring the implementation of this truce," he concluded.
Talk between Trump and Putin
Today, March 18, US President Donald Trump had a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
During the conversation, Trump and Putin agreed that the movement toward peace would begin with an energy and infrastructure ceasefire, as well as "technical negotiations on implementation of a maritime ceasefire in the Black Sea, full ceasefire and permanent peace."
The Russian President also stated the need to stop Ukraine's mobilization and rearmament of the Armed Forces in the event of a ceasefire.
