Zelenskyy on night strikes: Moscow intentionally delays war, more pressure required

Russia carried out a massive night attack on Ukraine using drones and missiles. Zelenskyy on Telegram called for increased pressure on Moscow over the prolonged war.
According to the president, on the night of May 24, Kyiv and several regions of Ukraine experienced a powerful missile and drone strike by Russia.
Zelenskyy recalled that 14 ballistic missiles and over 250 strike drones were launched, most of which were Iranian Shahed drones.
In the capital, work continues to eliminate the aftermath of the attack — rescuers are defusing missile and drone fragments, extinguishing fires, and working at the sites where shells fell.
Residential buildings, vehicles, and businesses were damaged. There are injured people.
The strikes also affected the regions of Odesa, Vinnytsia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Kyiv, and Dnipro, with mostly civilians among the victims.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in a statement, called for stronger sanctions against Russia, emphasizing that Ukraine repeatedly offered ceasefires, but the aggressor continues to ignore these proposals.
He expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and thanked everyone supporting the country during this difficult time.
"Only additional sanctions targeting key sectors of the Russian economy will force Moscow to stop the fighting," Zelenskyy stated.
