Massive combined attack: Explosions heard again in Kyiv

In Kyiv last night, May 24, explosions were heard amid an ongoing drone attack by Russian forces. Air defense forces and systems are actively working in the capital, according to RBC-Ukraine correspondent and Kyiv’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko.
An explosion near Kyiv was heard around 11:38 PM Kyiv time and was quite loud.
Kyiv’s mayor reported that air defense systems are actively working in the city. He also urged residents to stay in shelters until the all-clear is given.
Earlier, the mayor said that over 20 Russian drones were heading toward Kyiv from three different directions - Brovary, Vyshhorod, and Boryspil districts - with a related announcement made around 00:05 AM Kyiv time.
The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also confirmed the detection of strike drones moving toward Kyiv.
Meanwhile, around 11:40 PM Kyiv time, more explosions were heard in the capital.
The Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) reports that air defenses are actively engaging Russian targets in the city.
Kyiv City Military Administration chief Tymur Tkachenko also reported on his channel that Russians continue to attack the city of Kyiv.
Combined attack on capital and new explosions
Later, a threat of missile strikes from the northern direction was reported. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informed about ballistic missile activity.
Missile movement toward Kyiv was detected. New explosions were heard in the capital, some quite powerful.
The Air Force also mentioned a hostile high-speed target in the Kyiv region. Kyiv mayor Klitschko spoke about air defense operations in the city amid the Russian aerial attack.
Shahed attack
On the evening of Friday, May 23, a movement of strike drones toward the capital was recorded, with Shaheds spotted in the Kyiv region. Amid the drone attack, explosions were heard in Kyiv and the surrounding area, and air defense forces and systems were activated.
Later, it was reported that debris from downed Russian drones fell in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, where a fire broke out. Additionally, two people were injured in the Kyiv region’s Brovary district due to the drone attack.
