Russian drone attack on Kyiv and region: What's known about initial consequences

Today, May 23, Russian forces are attacking Kyiv and the Kyiv region with attack drones. There are reports of damage and injuries, according to Kyiv City Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko and Kyiv Regional Military Administration head Mykola Kalashnyk.
Initial consequences in Kyiv
Tkachenko reported that in the Holosiivskyi district, debris from an enemy drone fell in an open area.
According to him, the attack damaged four cars and the windows of a building.
At the same time, Tkachenko clarified that there were no casualties as a result of the attack on the capital.
Later, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tkachenko, stated on his Telegram channel that the fire in the Dniprovskyi district of the capital was not related to the enemy attack.
"Emergency services are working at the scene. The cause is being determined," he added.
Initial consequences in the Kyiv region
Kalashnyk noted that as a result of a Russian drone strike in the Brovary district, a 54-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were injured.
According to him, both sustained shrapnel wounds to the thigh.
"The injured have been hospitalized at a local hospital. All necessary medical assistance is being provided," he said.
The head of the regional administration also added that a private house and a car were damaged. The enemy attack is ongoing.
Drone attack
The Russian army launched drones over Ukraine this evening, May 23. They have already been spotted in several regions.
The first explosions in Kyiv during the drone attack were heard around 10:00 PM Kyiv time.
