As a result of the drone attack on Kyiv, debris fell on a shopping center in the Obolon district. A residential building in Obolon is also on fire, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Tymur Tkachenko.

"Debris was recorded falling on a shopping center in the Obolon district, as well as on a residential building in Obolon. Emergency services are heading to the scenes," Klitschko said.

Tkachenko clarified that a fire broke out in a residential building in Obolon. Information about any casualties is being verified.

According to local authorities, debris from a Russian missile fell in the Obolon district overnight. Earlier, it was also reported that debris had fallen in several locations in Obolon, including open areas.

In Kyiv’s Obolon district, an entire entrance of a residential building is on fire due to falling debris from Russian UAVs during the air attack, said Obolon district head Kyrylo Fesyk in a comment to Suspilne at 04:48 AM Kyiv time.

He also reported that a search operation is ongoing, and explosive ordnance disposal specialists are working on the site. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties.

Strike on Kyiv

The air raid alert in Kyiv was issued in the evening of May 23. The capital came under attack by Russian drones. In the Holosiivskyi district, debris fell, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.

After midnight, Russia attacked the Ukrainian capital with ballistic missiles while simultaneously launching drones. As of 3:30 AM Kyiv time, debris had been reported in five districts. Fires broke out in Kyiv as a result of the attack.

The number of injured in Kyiv has risen to eight, with two people hospitalized.
