Combined attack on Kyiv: Aftermath update

In Kyiv, as a result of the Russian combined air attack on the night of May 24, debris has been recorded falling in several districts. Local authorities have released initial information regarding the consequences of Russia’s missile and drone strikes, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Tymur Tkachenko.
Initially, debris was reported falling in two Kyiv districts - Shevchenkivskyi and Sviatoshynskyi.
"Debris has been recorded in Shevchenkivskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts. Information will be updated," said the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
Meanwhile, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported a call for medical assistance in the Sviatoshynskyi district.
"Paramedics called to the Sviatoshynskyi district. More details to follow," he wrote.
Update at 01:26 AM Kyiv time
KCMA chief Tymur Tkachenko later stated that debris also fell in the Obolon district, clarifying that it was from a missile.
"Missile debris was recorded in the Obolon district," he reported online.
Update: fires confirmed
Tkachenko later reported fires at two locations in the Sviatoshynskyi district.
"Information on casualties is being clarified," he added.
Update: damage in Solomianskyi district
At 01:37 AM Kyiv time, Tkachenko reported that drone debris fell on a residential building in the Solomianskyi district.
The mayor later specified that the debris hit the top floor of the building.
"Emergency services are heading to the scene," he added.
Update: casualties confirmed
Mayor Klitschko reported that two people were injured in the Dniprovskyi district as a result of the airstrike.
"Medics are already on the scene," he said.
Meanwhile, KCMA chief Tkachenko reported another location in the Sviatoshynskyi district where debris had fallen.
Update: fire in Dniprovskyi district
According to Tkachenko, fires broke out on the first and top floors of a residential building in the Dniprovskyi district.

Klitschko added that a non-residential building in the Sviatoshynskyi district was also ablaze.
"Emergency services are at the scene," he said.
Update: number of injured rises to 8
According to Kyiv City Military Administration head Tkachenko, in the Solomianskyi district of the capital, "four people were injured from the Russian attack."
"All have acute stress reactions and refused hospitalization," he said.
He also confirmed the mayor’s earlier report about two injured people in the Dniprovskyi district.
As Klitschko summarized in a post around 2:30 AM Kyiv time, six people were known to be injured in the capital due to the attack.
"Two were hospitalized in the Dniprovskyi district. Medical help was provided on-site to four others in the Sviatoshynskyi district," the mayor said.
Soon after, Mayor Klitschko updated that the number of injured had already risen to 8.
He noted that fires from falling debris were recorded in the Obolon district.
"The number of injured from the Russian attack has increased to 8 people. Two were hospitalized. Others received medical aid on site," the city mayor reported.
Update: debris also recorded in Shevchenkivskyi district
As the mayor said at 2:41 AM Kyiv time, debris falls are also being recorded in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv. Emergency services are heading to the scene.
"Emergency services are on their way," he added.
Nighttime combined attack on Kyiv
On the evening of May 23, Ukraine’s Air Force detected Russian strike drones heading toward Kyiv. Explosions were heard in the capital and surrounding region amid a Shahed drone attack, as air defenses engaged targets.
Later, debris from downed drones was recorded falling in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, causing a fire and damaging vehicles. In the Brovary district of Kyiv region, two people were injured.
After midnight, more than 20 kamikaze drones were reported heading toward Kyiv from multiple directions. Explosions were heard again in the capital, and air defenses were active. Russian forces also launched ballistic missiles toward the city.
