Zelenskyy on ceasefire proposals: Nobody has an answer
Those who suggest that Ukraine should consider a ceasefire do not know how it should work, stated President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with Bloomberg.
According to Bloomberg, Zelenskyy rejected Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's proposal for a ceasefire before peace talks with Russia.
President notes that those proposing such a scenario failed to clearly articulate how the ceasefire would work.
“Nobody has an answer. I’m not accusing, I’m just explaining,” he added.
Orban's proposal
Yesterday, July 2, Orban arrived in Kyiv for the first time since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine. His trip was related to Budapest's presidency of the European Union.
During his meeting with Zelenskyy, the parties discussed a global agreement on cooperation between the two countries. In particular, Orban proposed to the President to cease fire before the start of peace talks with Russia.
According to Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva, Hungary is not the first country to make such a proposal. Zelenskyy listened to Orban but responded with his own position.
