Election of a new leader in Iran
Amid the ongoing war, an even more radical leader has emerged in Iran – Mojtaba Khamenei. He was chosen after the United States and Israel eliminated his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, at the start of a military operation on February 28.
As reported, the selection of Iran’s new Supreme Leader was carried out on a fast-track basis due to constant attacks from the US and Israel.
The new leader is considered an ultra-conservative and advocates for increased support of terrorist groups in the region, as well as harsh suppression of domestic protests.
It is noted that Tehran confirmed the new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, was wounded during the airstrikes in which his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed.
On Thursday, March 12, Mojtaba Khamenei made his first statement since his election, accompanied by threats. He said that all US military bases in the Middle East must be immediately closed, and these bases will be attacked.
