Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hopes to receive a response from Russia to the 20-point peace plan by the end of this month, Bloomberg reports.

It is noted that the Ukrainian leader is seeking a response from the aggressor country before he finalizes security guarantees and a recovery plan with US President Donald Trump.

Zelenskyy also said he hopes to meet with his US counterpart either in the US or in Davos, where both leaders plan to participate in the World Economic Forum.

The President of Ukraine learned from National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Secretary Rustem Umerov that Trump’s special envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, had been in contact with Russia "in some kind of format."

Zelenskyy added that Ukraine has provided its feedback on territorial proposals to US representatives — they will pass it on to the Russian side for consideration, which could then be returned to Kyiv.

US peace plan

Ukraine continues peace talks with European and US partners. In particular, a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing at the leader level took place in Paris, following which Kyiv, Paris, and London signed a declaration of intent regarding a Western contingent on Ukrainian territory.

In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump have agreed on the US peace plan by 90%. The document is expected to be put to a referendum.

On Wednesday, January 7, Kremlin special representative Kirill Dmitriev was seen in Paris, where, according to media reports, he was received at the US embassy.

Axios reported that Trump’s advisers, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, met with Kirill Dmitriev in Paris to discuss the US peace plan for Ukraine.
