Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is not traveling to Davos for now and remains in Kyiv after an overnight Russian attack, Axios journalist Barak Ravid reports.

He said, citing a Ukrainian official, that Zelenskyy remains in Kyiv for now after massive overnight strikes by the aggressor country and is not traveling to the World Economic Forum in Davos.

At the same time, Ravid noted that Zelenskyy may travel to Davos if he has a bilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump to sign an agreement on Ukraine reconstruction.

So far, neither Zelenskyy nor Presidential Office has officially commented on this information.

Davos forum

On Monday, January 19, the 56th World Economic Forum started in Davos, Switzerland, and will run until January 23.

The event brought together about 3,000 participants from more than 130 countries, including a delegation from Ukraine, which will be represented at the highest level. Key topics include geopolitics, artificial intelligence, and reconstruction of Ukraine.

Ukraine–US dialogue

Earlier, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, who heads the Ukrainian negotiating group, said dialogue with the United States will continue during the Davos forum. US President Donald Trump is expected to attend the Davos event in person — last year, he joined remotely.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Ukraine will definitely take part in the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos this year. The Ukrainian delegation will be represented there at the highest level.

Earlier, the media reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump may sign an agreement on the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine in late January, totaling $800 billion.

Media sources stressed that Zelenskyy and Trump would sign an agreement at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The plan is designed for 10 years and provides for the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war and the restart of its economy.

Today, January 20, the special envoy of Russian President Kirill Dmitriev arrived in Davos for the first time since 2022 to meet with US representatives.
