President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Brussels today, December 18, for talks with leaders and prime ministers from seven European countries, stated the Ukrainian leader on Telegram.

"Now I am in Brussels. Important talks with our European partners are ahead," Zelenskyy wrote.

He emphasized that Europe needs a strong position for a just peace between Ukraine and Russia. The issue of ending the war requires coordinated and effective work of European countries.

Zelenskyy noted that meetings are scheduled with leaders from France, Germany, Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, Poland, and Czechia.

The Ukrainian President will also hold talks with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, European Council President António Costa, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

Zelenskyy also confirmed his participation in the European Council meeting.

Zelenskyy's visit to Brussels

On December 13, Reuters reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy would visit Brussels on December 18 to meet with the leaders of the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, NATO, and the EU.

On December 16, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna confirmed the visit.

Zelenskyy said that during the visit, he wants to discuss long-range capabilities for Ukraine, as well as investments in the Ukrainian defense industry.
