Zelenskyy announces new energy agreements with Slovakia

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced new agreements between Ukraine and Slovakia, stated the head of the state during his evening address.
"Ukraine’s Prime Minister, Yulia Svyrydenko, was present at the briefing regarding energy issues. We reached good agreements with Slovakia following the Ukrainian Prime Minister's visit. I am grateful for this," Zelenskyy said.
He did not specify the exact details of the agreements. However, earlier, Prime Minister Svyrydenko and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico discussed a range of important bilateral cooperation issues.
Meeting between Svyrydenko and Fico
Svyrydenko said the key discussion topics included increasing pressure on Russia, forcing it toward peace, protecting critical infrastructure, and maintaining European unity.
Slovak Prime Minister Fico expressed his country's readiness to discuss restoring Russian gas transit through Ukraine.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha added that Slovakia will provide Ukraine with a new package of energy equipment worth €500,000. He also noted that Slovakia will allocate €300,000 to build shelters in Ukrainian schools in frontline regions on a bilateral basis.
The Svyrydenko-Fico talks took place in Košice, Slovakia’s second-largest city in the east, with a population of about 225,000.
Later, Svyrydenko said that Ukraine proposed creating a joint energy hub with Slovakia for the supply of oil and gas.
Zelenskyy previously stated that in October, Kyiv would offer Slovakia alternative measures for energy support, referring to joint solutions that would serve as alternatives to Russian gas and oil.
