Ukrainian PM Svyrydenko and Slovak PM Fico begin talks in Slovakia: First details emerge

On Friday, October 17, joint talks began between Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. The negotiations are taking place in Košice, Slovakia, according to the broadcast by the Cabinet of Ministers and Yulia Svyrydenko.
"Joint consultations between the governments of Ukraine and Slovakia are underway in Košice. Grateful to Prime Minister Robert Fico for the reception. We continue constructive Ukrainian-Slovak dialogue and cooperation at practical levels," the statement by the Prime Minister says.
Svyrydenko emphasized that the key topics of discussion are increasing pressure on the Russian aggressor to force it to peace, protecting critical infrastructure, and strengthening European unity.
"These are not just political slogans, but a matter of vital necessity," she underlined.
As Fico noted, "Joint negotiations between the governments of Slovakia and Ukraine are producing good results."
According to him, the very fact of holding these consultations is an important signal.
"The Slovak government supports the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Our priority is ending the war and stopping the escalation," he added.
