Russia continues to suffer significant losses on the battlefield in Ukraine, according to the latest data from Ukraine's Defense Forces. The updated figures detail daily losses among Russian troops and military equipment
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to September 9, 2026, are estimated to be:
- Personnel ‒ nearly 1,500,870 (+1,480)
- Tanks ‒ 12,338 (+6)
- Armored fighting vehicles ‒ 25,290 (+5)
- Special equipment ‒ 4,650 (+3)
- Vehicles and fuel tanks ‒ 146,008 (+530)
- Unmanned ground vehicles ‒ 2,534 (+13)
- Artillery systems ‒ 49,383 (+42)
- MLRS ‒ 2,105 (+1)
- Air defense assets ‒ 1,613 (+1)
- Aircraft ‒ 441
- Helicopters ‒ 355

Frontline situation
Ukrainian drones struck Russian Mi-35 and Mi-8 helicopters at the Taganrog-Central airfield in the Rostov region. The airfield is located approximately 40 kilometers from Ukraine's state border.
Moreover, drones attacked the Saratov oil refinery in Russia. It is one of the oldest facilities of its kind in Russia, founded back in 1934. As of 2023, the plant's crude oil processing capacity stood at 4.8 million metric tons.
