'You'll get freeze this winter': Russia issues new threat to Ukrainians

On August 14, the Russian Defense Ministry effectively announced an escalation of terror against Ukrainian civilians in the winter of 2026–2027, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
Russia again threatens Ukrainian civilians
The Russian Defense Ministry published an image showing attack drones.
The image was captioned: "Like snow on your head." In this way, the enemy hinted that it would intensify drone terror against civilians in winter.
"You'll get a freeze this winter," the Russian Defense Ministry cynically stated, addressing Ukrainians.
Presumably, this is not only a threat but also Moscow's response to Kyiv's new proposal.
As is known, the day before, Ukraine called on the Kremlin for a ceasefire in the air and in the energy sector. In addition, it proposed "freezing" the war along the entire front line.
In this way, the Russian authorities once again made it clear that they do not intend to stop hostilities and sit down at the negotiating table.
Ukraine has already responded to Russia's new threat
Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, stated the matter.
"The Russian 'Ministry of Killing' posted a picture of a Shahed and promised a 'freeze.' I could also post a piece of a photo of a ballistic missile or one of our drones and write something like that. But why, when the Russian Defense Ministry has already addressed Russians in this way," he wrote.
As Kovalenko explained, the threat was effectively addressed not only to Ukrainians but also to the Russian population.
Thus, Russians already know who they will have to thank if they are left without electricity and heat this winter.
"It's all thanks to the Russian Defense Ministry. The mirror always works. You reap what you sow," Kovalenko warned.
Ukraine is actively seeking an end to the war
On August 11, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy officially confirmed that Kyiv had submitted its proposals to the United States on increasing pressure on Russia and more.
The head of state expects the White House to help bring Russian President Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table.
Recently, the US Senate approved a bill imposing sanctions on Russia, authored by Senator Lindsey Graham. The document could be brought before the House of Representatives as early as next month.
Amid the latest developments, Russia stated that it is ready to resume peace talks aimed at ending the war, but on one condition.
