Greater US involvement in the peace process will help Ukraine resume full-fledged negotiations with Russia on ending the war, says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The Ukrainian leader confirms that Kyiv has already submitted new proposals regarding the peace process to Washington.

According to Zelenskyy, there is every chance that the peace process will resume if the US is fully engaged in resolving this issue.

The head of state declines to disclose all the details, but emphasizes that pressure on Vladimir Putin could indeed yield results—especially if it comes from the White House.

"We need more involvement of the American side to the peace plan. I'm thankful to the team of President Trump that they want to continue. (Russian President Vladimir) Putin doesn’t want to stop this war now and (there's) not enough pressure on him now," Zelenskyy says.

In addition, he once again rejects the scenario in which Ukraine might withdraw its troops from Donbas.

The Ukrainian leader reiterates that security guarantees remain key for Kyiv.

"Russia begins to speak about this war, and they speak about territory. The key question is why he will not come again with 1 or 2 additional million soldiers after a big pause. Why he will not come again to occupy us?" Zelenskyy remarks.

Zelenskyy recently confirmed that the US had received new proposals from Ukraine to end the Russian war.

Meanwhile, Moscow stated that it was ready to resume peace talks, but there is one condition.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported that it was already awaiting the first visit of Trump's team to Kyiv.
