In Germany, it was stated that US President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, declared the need for coordination between the US and Europe on the issue of Ukraine, Sky News reports.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said that during a phone call with him and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Witkoff stated that it was necessary to coordinate efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
What exactly Witkoff meant is unclear, since the talks between the US and Russia regarding the so-called peace plan, developed by this friend of US President Donald Trump, are considered "secret" and "classified." Ukraine did not take part in shaping this peace plan and was not informed about its details.
"We discussed our various ongoing efforts to end Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine and thus finally the immeasurable human suffering," Wadephul said, without going into further detail.
On November 20, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy officially received from the United States a draft of the so-called peace plan, which consists of 28 points and, in fact, amounts to Ukraine’s capitulation. In particular, Kyiv is required to give up Donbas, half of the Armed Forces, and more.
In addition to these, there are two more key demands of the US peace plan. These concern the lifting of international sanctions, as well as halting processes that document Russian crimes against civilians and Ukraine’s infrastructure. The author of the plan is Trump’s special envoy, former real estate developer Steve Witkoff; Trump is well aware of the plan and supports it.
