US President Donald Trump’s peace plan for ending the war involves significant concessions to Russia, ranging from handing over parts of the Donbas to lifting sanctions and halting investigations into war crimes, Bloomberg reports.

As part of a 28-point document, other concessions are also proposed, including limitations on the Ukrainian Armed Forces and territorial concessions in the east.

According to sources in political circles cited by the outlet, Washington has signaled to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy the need to consider the terms of a ceasefire agreed upon after consultations with Moscow.

The plan allegedly envisions not only the lifting of international sanctions but also the halting of processes that document Russian crimes against civilians and Ukraine’s infrastructure. For the Kremlin, this is a matter of strategic survival and restoring economic influence.

Meanwhile, a delegation of senior US military officials, led by US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, is in Kyiv. The goal of the visit is to explore ways to"compel" Russia to end the war; however, European diplomats remain skeptical, noting that Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly feigned openness to negotiations while continuing aggression.

In Brussels, officials also warn that any peace plan that does not take into account the positions of Ukraine and the EU is unlikely to be viable.

European governments believe that without restoring justice and accountability for crimes, any agreement would merely freeze the war and create a risk of new escalation.

Previously, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed the development of ideas for Trump’s peace plan.

Additionally, US Senator Lindsey Graham emphasized that no deal to end the war will succeed without US military support for Ukraine and measures to restrict Russia’s financial capacity to continue the war.
