If the transfer of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia has indeed occurred and their use is confirmed, Ukraine will take appropriate measures, including the possibility of severing diplomatic relations with Iran, stated Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi.

Tykhyi reminded that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry had previously stated that the transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia would have devastating consequences for diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Iran. He said this warning remains in effect.

"I won't specify what is meant by 'devastating consequences' to avoid weakening our diplomatic position, but all options, including the one you mentioned (severing diplomatic relations- ed.), are on the table. If this transfer indeed occurred and its use is confirmed, Ukraine will initiate the subsequent consequences," said the Foreign Ministry spokesperson.

Iran transfers ballistic missiles to Russia

Earlier, Western media reported that Russia received short-range ballistic missiles from Iran.

Yesterday, the EU stated that they had received intelligence confirming the delivery of ballistic missiles from Iran to Russia.

Today, the US State Department confirmed that Russia has received ballistic missiles from Iran. It is likely that these will be used against Ukraine in the coming weeks.

Additionally, on September 9, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry summoned Iran's charge d'affaires in Ukraine, Shahriar Amouzegar, and warned him of the consequences if the information about the missile transfer to Russia is confirmed.
